In Meet the Reader (Kid Edition), you’ll meet readers from around the world! First up is Zoë from Monroe, New York.
Hi Zoe! Thanks so much for joining us on our first Meet the Reader (Kid Edition!).
1. Tell us about yourself: My name is Zoë. I am 9 years old. I love to read, write and draw. I am headed to fifth grade in the fall. I have 2 older brothers and a cat named Sydney. I live in Monroe, New York.
2. What are your favorite books and why? It’s hard to decide which is my favorite. I’ve read so many great books. I do enjoy good historical fiction like “The Secret Garden.”
3. What do you love about reading? I love reading because it helps me create a wonderland in my mind.
4. Where is your favorite reading spot and why? My favorite reading spot is sitting at my desk in my bedroom. Because I feel comfortable there. I do most of my reading there.
5. What were your biggest struggles in school, and how did you overcome them? I found science to be one of my biggest struggles in school. I overcame this struggle by participating in my school’s annual science fair.
6. Here at KidsRead2Kids, we believe our biggest struggles can also be our greatest strengths (or our real-life superpower!). What is YOUR superpower? My real life super power is my love for writing, reading and drawing. It helps me create a new world.
7. If you could change anything about the world, what would you change? Why? If I can change anything about the world, it would be how we dispose of our plastic trash. Because we are hurting animals.
8. What advice would you give to a kid struggling to read? The best advice I can give a kid struggling to read is to read more out loud. I found reading out loud helped me become a better reader.
