Bookshare

Free for current students, Bookshare is the world’s largest online library for people with over 518,000 titles. The KidsRead2Kids collection is now available so you can read along with our readers.

Kid Zone! National Center on Improving Literacy

In the Kid Zone!, you and your child can access ebooks, audiobooks, and stream videos of stories read aloud. You can also find cool games that focus on different literacy skills. The National Center on Improving Literacy (NCIL) is a partnership among literacy experts, university researchers, and technical assistance providers, with funding from the United States Department of Education.

Speechify

Speechify is a free text-to-speech app with natural voices that will you speed-read your favorite books, PDFs, and articles.


Learning Ally

Learning Ally offers over 75,000 digitally recorded books and text books in audio format for a yearly fee. Audiobooks can help reading comprehension in children with dyslexia and other learning challenges.


Project Gutenberg

Project Gutenberg offers over 53,000 free ebooks: choose among free epub books, free kindle books, download them or read them online. We carry high quality ebooks: Most Project Gutenberg ebooks were previously published by bona fide publishers. We digitized and diligently proofread them with the help of thousands of volunteers.


Reading Rockets

Reading rockets provides “information and resources on how kids learn to read and why so many struggle, and how caring adults can help.” Their FAQ on Dyslexia offers easy to understand guidance on helping young readers overcome learning challenges.  Their website offers a wide variety of recommended books for all reading levels.
